Case #5: Private Residence
Intro
I was contacted by a woman through e-mail about some occurrences that had been happening to her. She told me about how she had been in contact with different spirits for a good portion of her life. Things recently, though, had been becoming a little strange for them. The couple has three kids. The oldest had been talking of seeing a snake in his room. Toys were also going off by themselves. The client also told us of being in contact with the spirit of two little boys as well. In their kitchen, sometime the dishes would do things of their own accord: plates and cups crashing to the ground. With all of this activity, we decided that it was imperative that we set up an investigation.
The Investigation
We arrived at the house on April 11th 2009 at around 9:00 pm. There were three investigators, and we had with us a HDD digital camera, a mini dv camera, two still digital cameras, one digital voice recorder, an ELF zone EMF detector, a digital EMF detector, and a digital thermometer. Only the client was home, as her husband had taken the kids shopping for the night. While we started setting up our cameras and digital recorders, the toy that had a history of going off by itself went off. One of our investigators, as well as the client, witnessed this. Unfortunately, we didn't have any equipment running at the time. We started off our investigation by leaving our recorder running downstairs while we talked about the experiences the client had, hoping that something might happen. After about 15 minutes or so, we decided to head upstairs, to the master bedroom and bathroom. We investigated here for quite a while, but didn't have any experiences, so we moved back downstairs to further investigate. We didn't catch anything right away, so we sent one investigator upstairs by themselves to try and capture anything. After a few minutes, both the investigators downstairs and the investigator upstairs heard a knocking sound coming from the southwest part of the house. After a bit more investigating downstairs, we decided to head back upstairs to the sons bedroom. After a long investigation, we didn't find anything in this room. We tried to have the child come into the room with us to see if anything changed. He was very weary of entering at first, but did so after some time. Still nothing was found, so we decided to call it a night.
Reviewing the Evidence
After reviewing all of the evidence, there were a couple of things that were caught. The audio of the HDD camcorder picked up the toy going off another time while we were upstairs. We also caught a wheezing sound on our digital audio, which had been in one of the sons room while we were investigating it. We also caught the knocking sound that our investigators had heard on the HDD camcorder as well.
Conclusion
After the personal experiences that we had, and combined with the evidence that we caught, we have decided to classify this case as haunted. We plan on investigating this location again in the future, if the client has interest.
